Frequently Asked Questions
What does a “service call” include?
We will diagnose your heating or cooling issue for a flat fee, perform any simple repairs within that same fee, and report to you the cost involved in any repairs that may be necessary.
What about repair warranties?
With your equipment serial number, we can determine if any warranties are active and process them for you.
What do efficiency ratings mean?
Higher efficiency ratings translate to less expense to operate the equipment to the same performance level as lower-rated equipment. Air conditioner and heat pump systems are rated in SEER (SEER = Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio), with a higher number being more efficient. Furnaces are rated with an afue value, with a higher number being more efficient.
Should I replace my system before it has stopped working altogether?
While you can certainly maintain your current system for as long as it will continue to operate, after 10-15 years, it has probably become less efficient, and pales in comparison to the current efficiency of new systems available. You may choose to get a free quote, and consider the amount of money you may save in the operation of a new system.
What can I do to properly maintain my equipment?
Change filters regularly! Filters should be changed at least every season, and if there are pets in the home or other air quality issues, they may need to be changed more often. You may also choose to schedule preventative maintenance with a heating and cooling company to perform detailed checks of operation and clean components as needed.
